2016 Regional Homeless Education Conference

The Student Equity and Community Engagement Department held its 2nd Annual Regional Homeless Education Conference on November 18, 2016 at Gheens. There was a great turnout, with over 130 participants.  The focus of the conference was “Providing Equitable Services to Homeless Students in our area”. It covered the McKinney Vento Law, the role of the school homeless liaisons, trends in homeless student populations in our district, challenges and opportunities for collaboration, community resources, transportation, and other pertinent topics for serving homeless students.
